Supreme Court Decisions

You aren't a woman. You'll never find yourself in a situation where you are pregnant and desperate. What right do you have to tell a woman what to do with her own body?

Well, abortion does not just involve the woman's body. It involves her unborn child as well.

Besides--and I want to make this clear--I am not asserting that I myself have any rights with respect to the woman. All I'm suggesting is that, whatever rights a pregnant woman has, they do not include the right to kill her unborn child. The child, though unborn, is a living human being, and, since all living human beings have a right to life, the unborn have a right not to be killed. Whether recognized by the state or not, all human beings have an inherent right to life. Therefore, I could not give a pregnant woman a right to kill her offspring--even if I wanted to do so--and neither can the government. The most we could do is acquiesce in her violating the right to life of her child.
